Is it ok to put a business card on merchandise at wal-mart so that the customer that buys it gets my card?

Can you answer luv_the_red_head's question about printing?:

I am doing some advertising for my in-home daycare. someone suggested that that I put some of my business cards (printed on sticker paper) on packs of diapers in wal-mart and other stores. That way, when customers get the diapers, they get my info too. Is it ok to do this? Is it legal? Can I get in trouble?

You would need permission from your local Walmart, but I'm guessing they would say no.

It is at best inappropriate and at worst, illegal. You will need their permission. Truthfully, I think fly-ering the areas where you want to operate your daycare will get you better results. You can put them on people's doors and car windshields in store parking lots.

The problem is that an in-home daycare has a finite number of customers (you can legally only watch so many kids at a given time). As such, putting business cards on store products is likely overkill. You should be concentrating your marketing efforts to highlight your strengths and why a consumer should choose your daycare over another. This is best accomplished via local review websites, school directories, library bulletin boards, personal referrals, etc.
