How do I print to a Konica 7145 copier with network printing?
Hi, we recently got a Konica 7145 copier that has network printing capabilities and supports IPP. We have a small P2P network. I have tried repeatedly to get it to print over the network without success.
I can ping the copier's IP just fine. I am able to access the web utility so I know that I can connect to the copier via TCP/IP. IPP is enabled. Any ideas are appreciated!
Richard, I downloaded both PCL and PostScript drivers from the Konica/Minolta website. I have tried both drivers on mulitple workstations. I have tried printing using both LPR and sending raw data via TCP ports 9100, 5500, and 10001. I have tried printing to the spooler and directly. Everything has failed so far.
UPDATE: I just added a second network printer to the network and had no problems setting it up. The other printer is a Brother MFC-8460N. The Konica still does nothing. If I press the "printer" button on the Konica copier, on the LCD screen it says "Ready to Print" and underneath it says "Network Initializing." Thanks everyone!

Are the drivers installed on the computer you are trying to print from? Do you see the printer in the print dialog box when you select that option? If not, the printer's driver's probably need to be installed on each workstation (client). Once you have the drivers installed, you should be able to see the printer in the print dialog box, and select to print to it.
Hi, Your best bet is use the PCL driver if you dont know if you have postscript installed. Open the printer properties, click the "PORTS" tab, click "ADD PORT", double click "STANDARD TCP/IP".New window opens, then click "NEXT", enter IP address of the copier, click "NEXT", on next page ignore everything and click "NEXT" again, click "FINISH" window will close and you will see the small "PRINTER PORTS" window again, click"CLOSE", click "CONFIGURE PORT", in the PROTOCOL box click"LPR"in the "LPR SETTINGS" the "QUEUE NAME" is "PORT1", also click the "LPR BYTE COUNTING" box, then click "OK" window will close, on original properties window click "APPLY". You should be ready to print now.
