How can I transfer an Image from a Poster to using that image for screen printing?
Can you answer SOCORRO M's question about printing?:
Hi" See I have this poster and I want to put this image from my poster onto a shirt, but how can I transfer the poster image to screen printing? Do I have to scan it? and if I scan it, will the image come out exactly like the image on the poster? I really want the image on the poster to look exactly like it is but on the shirt.

So, here's a few things (some which might be disappointing!), but these days, yes, you would need it scanned - and if the part of the image is bigger than about 13" x 19", then getting it scanned might cost quite a bit of $$! Second, doing a screen print onto a t-shirt from a Color picture will also cost quite a bit (sigh, more $$). Lastly, having it look exactly like on the poster will never happen since printing inks onto material like a t-shirt will never be a 1-to-1 comparison.
That said, one thing that could help in the costs is instead of scanning it, use a digital camera (or borrow a friend's if you don't have one) to take a picture of the poster to use as your digital image to give to the printer. (just remember the copyright of the image and you cannot use that for profit - but for a one-time t-shirt, they really won't come after you).
Anyway, all-in-all, the whole thing might cost you $100-$300 depending on if you have friends with a screen-printing company that will do it for free!
