by Jack Winterburn

Many advances have been made in both cameras and the accessories available with regards to photography. Photography is an old and well known form of memory keeping. Digital cameras have almost replaced the old film cameras completely. Even professional photographers are converting to digital imagery because it saves time, money and equipment use; Now that you can view your image immediately on your cameras LCD screen, you can determine if the photograph is of the quality you are attempting to obtain. The basic function of the camera hasn't changed, there are still features to zoom in and out, and shutter speeds for slow or fast moving objects, so converting is trouble-free.

Digital cameras use sensors to turn light into electronic signals for the camera. Now you can see your newly shot image on a LCD screen for your approval. If you like the photos, then you also have the option to save that photo to the camera's memory itself. You won't have to make a trip to the photo center with these great little gadgets. The user can take the image and store it until they are ready to print. Now, there are even digital cameras to purchase that have a built in printer allowing you to produce a paper photo yourself. Well aren't we the photo shop expert?

Okay so not all of us can have a camera with a printer even with the great prices out there. This is not a problem as you can transfer your digital images to your computer to print them there. You can purchase a digital printer that will print the selected image for you as though it was a document on a computer file. With digital printing the customer makes and electronic document sort of speak to send to the printer to print. The image is sent to the printer in the form of a file and is in a format the computer understands to print. The end result is the photo image you requested. To the computer, it was just another document.

Laser printers work differently than digital printers. They utilize ink cartridges so the laser technology in printing images is such that it reads the image from top to bottom and creates lines of the image and then places them in the proper order. The cartridge heats the ink and prints the image that you selected line by line.

Well, it is no wonder that the digital camera has gained the popularity it has. Rather than finding it difficult to find a digital camera, try to find a camera that uses film rolls. You are most likely to only find them in throw away cameras. Of course digital cameras can range in their technology.
