What is the difference between coated and uncoated paper?
Answered By Patrice Alce
Once a paper is encrusted with clay or other
coating material then it is described as
coated paper. A coated paper is distinguished
as dull, glossy or matte. When coated paper
is used then it will create sharper and
brighter images.
On the other hand, uncoated paper does not
have any coating material. With uncoated
paper you will be able to use it for several
finishes, weights and colors. Compared to
coated paper, uncoated is more permeable.
